Pure synergy in Nuevo Nayarit: Surfing Smiles Foundation at the 2026 Wind Festival

What a great end to a historic day! We're heading back from Wind Festival 2026 With hearts full of pride. This year we took on an incredible challenge: Bringing two simultaneous events to the heart of Mexico's most important kiteboarding festival, achieving a perfect synergy between our community and the passionate wind enthusiast public.

For us it was vital to create a bridge between both worlds, and we achieved this through two great pillars that coexisted within the same framework:

The FSS Stand: Connecting with the Festival Audience

We set up our official stand in the festival's commercial area. It was the ideal meeting point to connect with event attendees, international athletes, and locals alike. Here, the festival community learned about our work firsthand, participated in fun, interactive inclusion challenges, and wholeheartedly supported us by purchasing our merchandise for the cause (the t-shirts, water bottles, and tote bags were a huge success!). It was the perfect space to raise awareness and showcase adaptive sports to thousands of people.

The ParaSUP Clinic: Our community on the water

In parallel and under the same energy of the festival, we carried out our ParaSUP Clinic. In this space, our community of people with disabilities experienced the freedom of gliding on the water, applying our methodology of emotional intelligence and mental health. The most beautiful thing was seeing how the two events merged: the festival audience approached to cheer, to understand adapted sports, and to be infected by the pure joy of our athletes.

This dual activation and the incredible synergy achieved would not have been possible without the teamwork of many people:

• To the instructors and athletes of the clinic: For their passion, their confidence, and for demonstrating in the water that limits only exist in the mind.
• To our amazing volunteers and photographers: For multiplying herself to staff the stand, coordinate the games, take care of the athletes in the water, and capture the magic of both events in photos and videos.
• To the community at large: To all the festival attendees who took a break from the kiteboarding competitions to learn about our project, donate, and add their energy to ours.

We made sure that the Wind Festival looked not only to the sky, but also to the sea, demonstrating that inclusion is built by sailing together.
