What we do

We mainly offer experiences in water sports for PwD ♿ but we also have opportunities for children and young people at risk (street and addictions).

The sports we practice are surfing, kayaking, Stand Up Paddle (SUP), swimming and snorkeling.

Clinics

We carry out free aquatic sports clinics that last a whole morning where they are offered the chance to practice or try for the first time any of the sports we handle.

The clinics are developed mainly on the beaches of Jalisco, Nayarit, Guerrero and Oaxaca.

We offer a day of activities on the beach where the well-being that we produce is that people feel comfortable and free in their own skin, without labels and judgments.

The idea of a trip to impact more PwD It was born in 2021 as a new format and comes from the spirit of exploration and freedom that characterizes a surfer.

The road trip is made up of 4 Para Surf clinics in 4 coastal cities for 15 days. The cities included will be confirmed close to the date.

With this road trip it is intended to directly impact more than 140 people with some type of disability and indirectly more than 300 people.

Friendly schools

The "FRIENDLY SCHOOLS" program has two main objectives:

1. That existing surf schools open their doors to adapted sports.

2. That there are more places in the Mexican Republic where a person with

disability can practice water sports.

If your application is approved, we will support you in two ways:

1. Training in adapted sports (for surfing and other water sports), main disabilities, biases and barriers and inclusion).
2. Possibility of acquiring adapted aquatic equipment and knowledge on how to adapt existing equipment.

For us, the most important thing is to bring the conventional world closer to the world of disabilities. The more knowledge and information people have on these issues, the better and greater the inclusion in our events and in the real world.

We are working hard to generate more and better alliances with other associations and organizations.

These alliances seek to have committed professionals who want to share their knowledge and also be able to subsidize part of the cost of courses and certifications, since a certain percentage will go directly to our sports clinics.

Do you want to compete?

If you already have experience in Para Surf and you are actively surfing and would like to start competing, you are in the right place.

Surfing Smiles with the support of organizations, individuals and the rest of the Mexican Para Surf team we will do everything possible to achieve it.

Currently the Mexican para surfing team is looking for new members who can occupy the categories that are still available and also find new athletes to be able to compete internally and select the team that year after year will represent our country in the Para Surf World Championship organized by the isa.

* This program is exclusive for PcD motor. Unfortunately there is still no competitive surfing for PwD intellectual. Here you can check which disabilities are allowed:

Being able to have decent access for all to the beaches of our country should be a right, unfortunately it is not, but fortunately and together with Barragan Moreno, society, local communities and alliances we can achieve it.

Surfeando Sonrisas aims to jointly improve access to the beaches where we carry out the clinics and programs.

The foundation constantly relies on local people as part of its volunteer and instructor programs. The least we can do for the community is to leave positive improvements to the architectural barriers that currently exist and improve the mentality towards free and independent spaces for all.

The services that we offer in alliance with Barragan Moreno on Design Consulting in Universal Accessibility for Beaches, are:

– Design consulting.
– Signage.
- Work execution.
– Sale of complementary equipment: amphibious chair, walker and amphibious crutches, kiosks for care and equipment storage, wooden, PET or plastic walkway, pool cranes, among others.
